Intense Work on Core Systems

This month has been packed with activity as we focused on refining key game systems to ensure stability and quality before the early access release. The preparation has been more challenging than anticipated, but it only strengthens our commitment to getting it right. Our primary focus was addressing bugs that were holding back our plans. We’ve fixed numerous technical issues, particularly in server synchronization, to ensure a seamless multiplayer experience. We’re now very close to starting closed testing, which we’ll discuss in more detail in upcoming posts. Open early access is on the horizon!

Advancing Adventure Mode and First Steps in Prefab Updates

We continue to enhance the adventure mode to make gameplay deeper and more engaging. Our small but ambitious team is growing, allowing us to begin reworking test tree prefabs. We’re only at the start of updating these environmental elements, but the new trees already look more natural and better integrated into the world. Later, we plan to upgrade the world generator to make the forests and groves in TallTale Online even more vibrant and unique.

Visual Improvements: Colored Block Lighting

We’ve also dedicated time to the game’s visual aspects. One notable enhancement is colored block lighting, which adds more atmosphere and depth to scenes. Light now appears brighter and more realistic, especially in dynamic settings like sunsets or nighttime landscapes, highlighting the beauty of the TallTale Online world.

Character Customization: Steps Toward Uniqueness

One of the key tasks recently has been refining the character customization system. We want every player to create a hero that reflects their style. To achieve this, we’ve:

• Updated the animation engine: Transitions between animations are now smoother, and the animations themselves are more natural and expressive, making character movements lively and responsive.
• Introduced initial customization: You can now customize your character’s appearance, including hair and clothing. While clothing options are limited for now, we’re actively working on adding more elements to let you create the hero of your dreams.

Mini-Games and Creative Mode in Early Access

We’re excited to announce that in early access, you’ll be able to try mini-games and creative mode as test gameplay! While we continue developing the main adventure mode, mini-games will let you experience the spirit of TallTale Online, even if not in its full scope. These fast-paced challenges will allow you to compete with friends, hone your skills, and have fun. Creative mode will offer complete freedom for building and experimenting, letting you bring your boldest ideas to life without restrictions. We’re also working on a mini-game lobby, which will serve as a convenient hub for all modes.
