What's New in Our World?
Hello, adventurers! It's been a while since our last announcement, and we're excited to share fresh updates on our development progress. Our team has been tirelessly working to make the game world even more immersive and detailed. Today, we'll tell you what we've been working on and give a little hint about what's waiting for you ahead!
World Generator Optimization and Prefab Placement
One of the key tasks recently has been refining the world generator. We're actively improving it to ensure every corner of the game world feels natural and engaging. While the work on the generator isn't complete yet, we've made significant progress in creating diverse landscapes and populating them.
Special attention has been given to prefab placement — they now integrate into the world more harmoniously, creating a sense of a living and well-thought-out environment. We're continuing to polish this system to make your adventures even more thrilling!
Demonstration of the updated world generator: among the natural terrain, you can now find abandoned ruins, seamlessly integrated into the environment.
The updated canyon generation algorithm now creates not only deep and spectacular chasms but also fills them with interesting discoveries.
Graphical Improvements and Optimization
We've also introduced several graphical improvements to make the world look even brighter and more detailed. From minor visual effects to performance optimization, all of this helps make the gameplay smooth and enjoyable.
Additionally, we've significantly optimized the chunk mesh assembly, which has reduced loading times and improved overall game performance. These changes are especially noticeable when exploring large areas, where the world now loads faster and runs more stably.
Server-Side Work
A significant portion of this update was dedicated to improving server-side code. We focused on optimizing collision detection systems and physics calculations to make the gameplay more reliable and responsive.
To test these systems, one of our developers added a test block — launchpad. This platform launches the character in the direction they're looking when stepped on. It turned out to be quite fun, but this block is unlikely to be used in adventure mode.
However, we already see potential for its use in mini-games that will add variety to the gameplay. In the future, we'll showcase even more exciting ideas and innovations!
What's Next?
There's still a lot of work ahead on the game world. In future posts, we'll dive deeper into biomes — their variety, unique features, and how they shape our world.
We're also actively refining the combat system, adding new mechanics and improving existing ones. In the next update, we'll aim to showcase it in action, so get ready for epic battles!
